We are all doing really well, growing like crazy!! Mummy Pixie is doing a great job fattening us up! Our eyes and ears are fully open now, we tend to whine a little more than normal as I think we are actually scaring ourselves with the sounds we make. Our human mommy has cut our nail for the second time today. By the time we go to our new homes we will be used to having our nails cut and we won't mind having our weekly pedicure, we may actually enjoy it...
Our little sister Female #2 has likely found herself a home today, there are only 2 of us left to find homes. We're not worried, we know that that special someone will come along and want to adopt us soon enough. we ae both too cute to be left behind.
We are now 10 days old :c) We are starting to become little rotund puppies!! We are all gaining weight and growing steadily. Our little eyes are just starting to open and soon our little ears will finally let in sound in the days to come.
When the puppies are first born, their bodies are really still developing. Their eyes and ears are completely shut. So up until day 10 they are completely in the dark and cannot hear. They rely completely on scent. I always find it kinda funny when they first start to hear. They literally have the "What was that?!" look about them. They do get startled very easily so we have to make sure we keep our voices down!
Over the next few weeks they will start to change a lot, they will start to become much more active start to walk on there legs, up to now they have been dragging their little bodies around the whelping box. About week 3 I will start to see individual personalities start to develop and little quirks that define that certain puppy. Look for our new pictures up soon!
Well today we are 3 whole days old. Our human mommy says it best for us to have our dew claws removed today when we are just little. This way the little bone that holds the claw isn't really a bone yet, just cartilage. It is easily removed without much stress to us.
Keeping our dew claws means that we would never have a "clean leg for shows" and there is always the possibility of getting them caught on things and ripping them causing us much pain when we are older. Thankfully we are so small that we have already long forgotten about or trip to the vet clinic this morning!
Our human mommy also took pictures of us today "our first mug shots" these pictures can be seen here.http://www.rockridgebostons.com/apps/photos/album.jsp?albumID=1379362
